What If

May 30, 20255 min read

WHAT IF the only thing standing between you and the thing you've secretly—or not-so-secretly—really wanted…is the version of you that’s been playing by someone else’s rules?

That dream you put on your wish list as a little girl—
The
audacious one.
The one that would check every box, spark joy daily, and light up your whole life…

But somewhere along the way someone told you it was “too much.”
Too risky.
Too unrealistic.
Too…
you...

So, you hung that dream in the closet, maybe packed it in a box labeled "someday"... and sighed. You've moved it from house to house, from college dorm to first apartment, and probably 6 more times after that. Moving is heavy - picking up that same old unpacked "dream" box never gets any lighter. It becomes more of a memory than something possible.

You've built a life based off what someone else said was supposed to be best for you.

But you always wondered...

What if...

But here’s the truth: That version of you still exists.
And everything you wanted then is still possible now.

I've had so many conversations with women over the past 5+ years while navigating my own path of permission and pushing back on things that didn't feel "right". I found myself going from career to career, from worry to wonder, from fear to fun and back to fear... I was doing everything I could to survive.

After a season of significant loss and extended grief (that was rough, y'all), I found professional help with an amazing FNP, who helped me get a lot of mental and physical things moving in a more positive direction. Through that experience, I found a workshop at the end of the year which allowed me to start thinking about how I wanted to re-emerge… ton come back into a more confident presence with purpose and passion. I was writing down things that were ME. I began to recognize why certain things weren't happening, why - when I was trying to fit in, to be part of the "team", to prove my value and worth in rooms that were so competitive, why they weren't paying off?!?!?!?!

Here's the thing - I was in the wrong room. I was creating a career based off of the expectations of others. My bosses, my colleagues, my referral partners, my clients... my parents... ooof. That was harsh.

I was too busy people-pleasing and seeking approval by doing what they expected me to do. The energy, y'all... SO MUCH ENERGY to be miserable.

So, what changed?

I got clear. Then I got confident.

Clarity is the key.

Confidence is the lock.

Not long after the new year I had switched gears into a more favorable support system (a new company), that allowed me to create the business I wanted based on the values that were important to me. I bought my domain (which is still there, btw... I should probably do something with it at some point), I was approached to be part of a launch team for a skincare brand, I received recognition for my ability to write and met someone who encouraged me to start copywriting, and the class I took at the end of the year ultimately led me to an opportunity to obtain a certificate in business strategy. (Oh, and I met a badass brand photographer - I'll send you her info! - before I even knew I was branding ME)

All because I stepped outside the expectations of others for who I should be, what I should say, how I should make money, how I should show up in the world, what my production numbers should be, what I should "accept" as truth... how I should "act" (you feel me on this - I know!!!!)
but what a presence!!! It was only the beginning.

This is the power of a cohesive brand
One built on
authentic identity, not external expectations.

I've been able to embrace and continue to refine what I desired, define the root of who, what, why, and how. The experiences I’ve navigated led me to where I am today. Every single thing I’ve endured has become a bigger purpose in my brand.

There was the networking meeting where the room was challenged to share our name and what we do without stating the name of a company or the roles we performed in said company – (a million thank yous for this, LJ – you prompted me to share it all and make it happen.)

Allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Christy Meaux and I create Cohesive Confidence.
